Maybe Too Fierce, Debt Collector In Kalibata Killed By Unknown Persons

JAKARTA - Two men suspected of being debt collectors or eagle eyes (matel) were victims of a beating by an unknown group of people (OTK) in the Kalibata area, South Jakarta, Thursday, December 11, 2025. Information was obtained, one person was reported to have died from serious injuries.

The Pancoran police chief, Kompol Mansur, confirmed the incident. He explained that the incident began when the two debt collectors stopped a motorcyclist passing across from the Heroes Cemetery (TMP).

Not long after, a car came. From inside the car suddenly got off a few people and immediately ganged up on the two debt collectors.

"When he was stopped, a car came. The driver got off, out of nowhere, immediately helped by hitting the matel (debt collector)," he told the media, Thursday, December 11, 2025.

Mansur said the incident took place at around 15.30 WIB. The perpetrators who got out of the car are estimated to be around five people.

"While one victim died, another one is still alive," he said.

After the incident, the perpetrators immediately fled, including the motorcyclist who had previously been stopped.

"Those who hit immediately fled, very quickly," he explained.

Mansur emphasized that the police are still investigating and pursuing the perpetrators.

"While it is still under investigation. According to the testimony of witnesses at the TKP, they do not know whether there is a connection between the motorcyclist and the car," he said.
