Propam Checks Two Piket Personnel In The Aftermath Of Stepfather Alvaro's Suicide

South Jakarta Metro Police Head of Propam, Bayu Police Commissioner Agung Ariyanto said his party had carried out an internal examination to determine whether or not there was negligence by officers over the suicide of Alex Iskandar (AI), Alvaro Kiano Nugroho's stepfather (6), a suspect in kidnapping and murder.

It is known that Alex was found dead by hanging himself in the psychological room of the South Jakarta Metro Police on Sunday, November 23, 2025 in the morning. The action was carried out after Alex was named a suspect on the findings of Alvaro's body in Bogor.

"Regarding this suicide, we have examined two personnel who were on picket at that time," Bayu told the media, Monday, November 24, 2025.

Separately, the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Budi Hermanto, confirmed that this would be investigated by the South Jakarta Metro Police Propam. He also asked that the police be given room for the deepening process.

"Surely it will be explored by Propam, let's give space to explore it," he said.

Previously, Alex had provided information regarding the motive for the kidnapping that led to the murder.

Based on the victim's family, Alex is suspected of holding a personal grudge against Alvaro's mother, although so far he has been known to be close and behaved well in front of his family.

Alvaro's grandfather, Tugimin, revealed that Alex had pretended to look for his grandson when the boy was reported missing.

"Even though he was examined and admitted that he didn't know at all. Even Alex was looking for Alvaro too, taking me to the Sector Police," said Tugimin.
