DPKP Inhil Riau Sends Large Crocodile Carcasses To Jakarta To Be Preserved
JAKARTA - The Fire and Rescue Service (DPKP) Inderagiri Hilir, Riau Province, sent a large crocodile carcass weighing 585 kilograms and a length of 5.7 meters to a conservation agency in Jakarta to be preserved.
Head of DPKP Inhil, Junaidi said the agency was under the guidance of the Directorate General of Natural Resources and Ecosystem Conservation of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia.
"The delivery of the crocodile carcass was at the request of the conservation agency for preparatory and preserved," Junaidi said, citing ANTARA, Sunday, November 23.
The crocodile carcass, he said, was taken using a cold box car to prevent decay. The crocodile carcass, which was wrapped in plastic, was brought last Friday, at 21.00 WIB.
Junaidi said that before the crocodile carcass, which was named "The Undan", was brought to Jakarta, DPKP Inhil personnel first took out their stomach contents.
"It turned out that the contents were surprising, ranging from plastic, electronics, to sharp objects," he said.

According to him, there are 20 plastic bags, burlap sacks, packaged drink caps, small knives complete with handles, and spears. In fact, there are also fragments of old television tubes.
All objects found in the crocodile's stomach were still intact. However, not a single animal or human bone exists.
"It is possible that the objects that cannot be digested cause the crocodile to die. Just imagine that there are 20 plastic bags, as well as burlap sacks, knives, spears, and television tubes," said Junaidi.
Previously, a crocodile from Sungai Undan, Reteh District, Indragiri Hilir Regency (Inhil) was arrested by residents on November 1, 2025. After that, DPKP Inhil evacuated and was treated until he finally died last Thursday.
