Roy Suryo's Attorney Cs Affirms Rejecting Mediation
JAKARTA - Roy Suryo Cs' attorney, Akhmad Khozinudin, emphasized that his party rejected the mediation attempt in the alleged fake diploma case of former President Joko Widodo. He considered this case purely criminal so that it could not be resolved through peaceful channels.
"There is no peace with fake, no compromise between Al-Haq and Al-Batil," he told the media, at Polda Metro Jaya, Thursday, November 20, 2025.
He also criticized a number of figures who were said to be talking about mediation discourse, including Faisal Assegaf and the Chairman of the National Police Reform Commission Prof. Jimly Asshiddiqie. According to him, the Police Reform Commission should focus on supervising the National Police institution, not dealing with the issue of Jokowi's diploma.
Khozinudin emphasized that Roy Suryo and Rismon Sianipar remained committed to fighting for public aspirations until this case was completely opened to the root of the problem.
"If we take peace, it is the same as the declaration of betrayal. It is impossible for Mr. Roy and Mr. Rismon to do that," he said.
Khozinudin warned the public not to believe in parties claiming to represent the advocacy team or trying to build a narrative of peace with any institution.
According to him, from the start Jokowi never wanted to make peace, or vice versa. Because, it is tantamount to betrayal of the people.
"So, don't believe that there are parties who claim to have a role so that our clients are not detained, let alone admit that they have the capacity to resolve this issue peacefully," he said.
"Remember, from the start, Jokowi never wanted peace and today if we take peace, it is the same as us making a declaration of betrayal against all Indonesian people," he said.
