Fleeing From A Crowd Of Residents, A Suspicious Man Throws Himself Into Sunter River, Found In A Body Bag
JAKARTA - A man suspected of being the perpetrator of a crime was desperate to throw himself into Sunter River, RT 012/08, North Rawa Badak Village, Koja District, North Jakarta, Thursday, November 20, 2025.
Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Koja Police, AKP Fernando, said that his party had visited the scene. Based on the testimony of witnesses around the location, the incident began when the witness with the initials S wanted to pray at dawn to see a man with suspicious movements.
The man walked to observe the situation at around 04.30 WIB on Jalan Pembangunan, RT 012/08, Rawa Badak Village, Koja.
"Witness S then followed the man and approached him. The witness also asked the suspicious man. 'bang looking for who and where to live?, but did not answer, but reasoned that he would borrow a cellphone charger because his cellphone was off," said AKP Fernando when confirmed by VOI, Thursday, November 20.
Furthermore, the man was escorted to the RT 012 post by the witness. When he arrived at the RT 012 post, witness S again saw another person waiting on the motorbike. The witness suspected that the person was a friend of the suspicious man.
Residents then returned to the man who was riding the motorbike, who was strongly suspected of being a friend of the suspicious man.

But the person immediately fled, then chased by residents but managed to escape. Meanwhile, the man who had been arrested suddenly ran to Sunter River and threw himself away.
However, the man's actions made residents panic because his body disappeared in the Sunter river. Residents then reported to the nearest Fire Department for evacuation requests.
Then a search was carried out by divers from the Damkar and the man's body was found dead. The man is known to have the initials D (46), a resident of Trijaya Village, Tulang Bawang Regency, Lampung.
Currently, the case is still being investigated by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Koja Police. Police are still chasing the man who was riding the motorbike.
"It's still being investigated, it looks like the allegations are there (allegedly the perpetrator of the crime)," he said.
