Prabowo Inaugurates The Police Reform Committee At The Palace This Afternoon
President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to inaugurate nine members of the National Police Reform Committee at the Indonesian Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Friday, November 7 at 16.00 WIB.
This information was confirmed by the Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration and Corrections Yusril Ihza Mahendra to reporters in Jakarta, Friday afternoon.
"It's true that at 16.00 there will be an inauguration of the Police Reform Committee. However, who will be sworn in, I don't know yet. I was invited to attend the event, but I don't know if I will be sworn in or not. Later, just listen to it when the Presidential Decree (presidential Decree) is read out," said Yusril, quoted by Antara.
According to information circulating among journalists, nine members of the National Police Reform Committee consist of several ministers, former chairmen of the Chief Court, and former National Police Chief.
The names mentioned will be appointed as members of the National Police Reform Committee, including Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections Yusril Ihza Mahendra, Deputy Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Correction Otto Hasibuan, Minister of Home Affairs as well as Chief of Police for the 2016 period 2019 General Pol. (Ret.) Tito Karnavian, Minister of Law Supratman Andi Agtas, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs for the 2019 period 2024 as well as Chairman of the Constitutional Court for the 2008 period 2013 Mahfud MD, Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court for the 2003 period 2008 Jimly Asshidddiqie, Chief of Police for the 2019' 2021 Period. (Purn.) Idham Aziz, and Kapolri for the 2015 period 2016 General Pol. (Ret.) Badrodin Haiti.

On a separate occasion, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi in Jakarta on October 30, 2025 said that the list of names of members of the National Police Reform Committee had been completed and approved by the President so that it was only a matter of time for the names to be announced and inaugurated.
Then, Pras, when met on September 17, explained that President Prabowo wanted complete improvements, evaluations, and improvements to the National Police institution.
"His wish (President, ed.) is of course, we all really love the police institution, but of course there are several things that may need to be improved, evaluated, and that is normal for all institutions. Well, his desire is to create a Police Reform Committee," said Pras.
Police reform is currently still one of the demands voiced by the public, including by the masses who rallied in various regions of Indonesia at the end of August 2025.
