The Euro 2020 Broadcast Must Be Through An Official Partner, Otherwise There Will Be Legal Sanctions
JAKARTA - PT Global Media Visual (Mola) appealed to all business actors who wish to carry out activities by broadcasting the Euro 2020 match to register and cooperate through an official partner appointed by Mola, namely PT Mitra Media Integrasi (MIX).
"We hope that the related parties do not try to infringe copyright on the 2018-2022 UEFA Euro Package because the legal sanctions and penalties are quite heavy in accordance with the provisions of the prevailing laws and regulations", said COO MIX Bobby Christoffer in an official statement received by Antara, Thursday.
Mola is the sole licensee for the content/impressions of Euro 2020 football matches, Qualification Matches for UEFA Euro 2020, Qualification Matches for FIFA World Cup 2022, and UEFA Nations League 2018/2019, 2020/2021 (UEFA Euro Package 2018-2022).
In addition, it is not only limited to 51 complete Euro 2020 matches until the final but also for over-the-top (OTT) platforms and public viewing activities in public or commercial areas and the like.

"For venues or commercial businesses that have registered and intend to organize this program (Euro 2020), we will ensure that the implementation is in accordance with the applicable provisions in the Mola Live program where all registered venues can be seen on the molalive.com website", said Bobby.
After officially becoming the sole licensee of the content or broadcast of the 2018-2022 UEFA Euro Package football match, Mola has been aggressively announcing broadcasting and public viewing rights of these shows in several national newspapers in Indonesian and English.
It is intended that the general public and business actors in public/commercial areas, such as hotels, cafes, apartments, cinemas, malls, and the like know about the single license for the shows owned by Mola so that there is no copyright infringement by parties who do not own official cooperation with Mola.
For the 2018-2022 UEFA Euro Package through the over-the-top (OTT) platform, it can only be accessed on the website www.mola.tv, Mola's official android/IOS application, and other third-party platforms that collaborate officially with Mola.
However, it is not limited to cellular telecommunication companies, but also IPTV (Internet Protocol Television), ISP (Internet Service Provider), and others on the internet platform with VOD (Video on Demand) format in the form of applications that can be downloaded or installed on the device belong to these third parties.
Furthermore, Mola also emphasized that broadcasting of the UEFA Euro Package 2018-2022 on the OTT platform as well as in public/commercial areas and the like as mentioned above, which is carried out without permission and cooperation with Mola is a copyright infringement and may be subject to criminal sanctions under the current regulations.
As stated in Law Number 28/2014 concerning Copyright, that all forms of use, distribution, and announcement of a work that is done without the right and/or without the permission of the creator or copyright holder that are done by violating the economic rights of the creator and for commercial purposes are a form of copyright infringement, and can be subject to a maximum criminal sanction of 10 years and/or a maximum fine of IDR 4 billion.
Mola will actively monitor, both online and/or offline, and take direct action firmly against copyright infringers for broadcasting the UEFA Euro Package 2018-2022 by cooperating with legal counsel and authorities.
