Russian-Iran Intelligence Under The Guise Of The US Embassy Security Guard In Norway Sentenced To 3.6 Years In Prison
JAKARTA - The Oslo Court sentenced a security guard or security guard at the United States (US) Embassy in Norway.
The 28-year-old Norwegian was proven to have acted as a Russian-Iranian spy or investigator under the guise of a embassy security guard in Oslo.
During the trial process until the verdict on Wednesday, October 15, the defendant admitted the facts in the indictment but denied criminal charges.
The defendant's lawyer said the judge's verdict against his client raised questions about what was considered espionage according to Norwegian law.
"He lied about having security clearance for agents from other countries and exaggerated his own role," said the defendant's lawyer, Inger Zadig of Elden Law Firm in a statement, Thursday, October 16, quoted from AP.
"He has a level of access that is more or less the same as the janitor at the embassy. The information he shares is worthless and not, either separately or collectively, capable of harming individuals or the security interests of any country," he continued.

The Norwegian government broadcaster NRK reported that the public prosecutor (JPU) revealed that the defendant acted as a spy by handing over details of embassy diplomats, floor plans, security routines of the US Embassy in Norway, and others.
The NRK also said that US relations with Israel and the war in Gaza prompted defendants to come into contact with Russia and Iran.
