Former Nepalese Prime Minister Oli Opens Voice After Overthrown By His People, Talks 73 Demonstrators Killed
JAKARTA - Former Nepalese Prime Minister (PM) KP Sharma Oli for the first time delivered an official statement after being ousted by his people in a demonstration in his country that ended in chaos.
Sharma Oli said there was no order for police to fire on a mass of massive demonstrations against his corrupt government. In the demonstration, 73 people were declared dead.
The 73-year-old man admitted that the "infiltrators" were responsible for provocations in the bloody demonstration that began September 8 in Nepal.
"Those who infiltrated (in the protests) incite violence, resulting in the tragic loss of the lives of young people," Oli claimed in an official Nepalese-language statement on her Facebook account as her country commemorates constitutional day on Friday, September 19, quoted from AFP.
"The government did not issue an order to target protesters and fire fire," he continued.
The massive demonstration in Nepal began with a young generation voicing its aspirations for the dissatisfaction of the government, which at that time was led by PM KP Sharma Oli.
Initially, a demonstration protested the luxurious lifestyle of government officials flexing on social media in the midst of Nepalese society's limited condition due to prolonged economic difficulties.
Demonstrations were also triggered by public dissatisfaction with legal remedies from the rise of corruption cases in Nepal. Likewise, the absence of people is asked to obey taxes, but the benefits are nil.
The mass action then heated up when the criticized government banned a number of social media as of September 4, 2025.
Nepal's young people who did not take to the streets ended up engaging in protests because the platform was angry to cast voices silenced without considering freedom of expression.
At least 19 people died in the demonstration that led to chaos on the first day.

Several protesters were also seen brandishing automatic rifles on the second day of the riots.
"There must be an investigation into the incident of using automatic weapons that the police do not have," said Oli in her upload.
"I won't talk much about the conspiracy behind this today, the time to prove it," he added.
