Bima Inspector's Office Fire, Inspector Believes That The Case Audit Handling Process Continues
JAKARTA - The Bima Inspectorate Office in West Nusa Tenggara caught fire in August 2025. Inspector of Inspectorate Bima Agus Salim admitted that the incident would not hinder the process of auditing the loss of an ongoing case.
"Indeed, all the documents were clearly burned, it's just that we have files, they are with all of us. So, all the audit processes are still ongoing," he said by telephone, Friday, confiscated by Antara.
He admitted that as a result of the fire incident, all facilities and infrastructure at the Bima Inspectorate office were burned down.
"It's from all the facilities and infrastructure in the inspectorate's office, laptops, tables and so on, it's sold out on fire," he said.
For this incident, Agus stated that his party had provided information to the police who were currently investigating the alleged intentional arson.
In a statement to the police, the inspectorate has also conveyed the nominal loss due to the incident.
"If the building's burning loss was Rp. 2.5 billion, that's what we recorded and we have conveyed it to the police," he said.
Furthermore, Agus Salim said that all activities related to the post-incident Bima Inspectorate's duties were still running by utilizing the former Bima Regent office pavilion building in the middle of Bima City.
"Activities are still running. Meanwhile, we are based in the former old pavilion," said Agus Salim.

For the plan to build a new office, he admitted that this was beyond the authority of the inspectorate.
"That is not our domain, that is the domain of the local government (Pemda). What is clear is that it will depend on the local government who plans whether it is built new or how all regional government affairs are," he said.
The police in the investigation of the arson case previously revealed an element of intent by securing a number of suspected arson perpetrators.
Head of the Bima City Police Satreskrim AKP Dwi Kurniawan said that the party suspected of being the perpetrator of the arson is still under investigation by the police.
The office, which is located in Penatoi Village, Mpunda District, Bima City, was reported to have caught fire on Thursday morning, August 7. The entire room, office goods and documents were reportedly burned down.
