800 Drones Hit Ukraine, Become Russia's Largest Air Attack During War

JAKARTA - Russia attacked the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, with drones and missiles today Sunday, September 7. This is Russia's biggest airstrike since the war against Ukraine.

This Russian attack killed at least two people and left smoke billowing from the roof of a Ukrainian government fital building.

Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ihnat told AP, Sunday 7 September, Russia attacked Ukraine with 805 drones and decorations today.

According to him, Russia has carried out the largest drone strike since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine began.

At the same time, Russia launched 13 missiles of various types.

Yuriy admitted Ukraine shot down and neutralized 747 drones and 4 Russian missiles.

There were nine missile attacks and 56 drone attacks at 37 locations across Ukraine. The debris from drones and missiles that crashed fell at eight locations.

The AP reporters saw a puff of smoke rising from the roof of the Kyiv cabinet building as well as the office of Ukrainian ministers, but it was not clear whether the smoke was the result of direct attacks or debris, which would mark the escalation of Russian airstrikes.

Police then blocked access to the building when fire trucks and ambulances arrived.

Previously, Russia avoided attacks on government buildings in downtown Ukraine.
