Identification Of 8 Bodies Of Indonesian Citizens-Foreigners Victims Of Helicopters Falling In South Kalimantan, DVI Team: 3 Must Via DNA
The Disaster Victim Identification Team (DVI) stated that the identification of the three bodies of Indonesian citizens (WNI) victims of the BK117 D3 helicopter accident that crashed in the forest area of Emil Baru Village, Mentewe, Tanah Bumbu, South Kalimantan, had to go through a deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) test.
"The condition of the body was completely destroyed. The extent of the damage was severe due to the fire," said Head of the South Kalimantan Police Dokkes Kombes Pol Dr Muhammad El Yandiko at a press conference for Operation DVI Polri BK117 D3 Helicopter Accident at Bhayangkara Hospital Banjarmasin, Saturday night, confiscated by Antara.
He explained that the conditions for the three Indonesian bodies were different from the bodies of two Indonesian citizens and three bodies of foreign nationals (foreigners) who were more easily identified because they were not badly damaged.
"It is very difficult to identify without going through DNA. In addition, we have not obtained the medical records of these Indonesian citizens in full," he said.
