This Is What Chairul Tanjung's Subordinates Have Done So That Bank Mega Can Get A Profit Of Rp3.5 Trillion In 2021
JAKARTA - PT Bank Mega Tbk is optimistic that this year's performance will be able to continue to grow even though it is still during the COVID-19 pandemic. In accordance with the Bank's Business Plan (RBB) in 2021, Bank Mega targets net profit to reach Rp3.5 trillion or an increase of 16 percent compared to 2020 achievement.
In addition, credit growth is projected to increase by 10 percent or become Rp53.1 trillion. The Third Party Fund (DPK) is targeted to increase by 8 percent or to Rp85.5 trillion.
The bank assets belonging to conglomerate Chairul Tanjung are targeted to reach Rp118.7 trillion by the end of 2021. This figure is an increase of 6 percent compared to 2020.
"To achieve the aforementioned goals, strategic steps that will be taken include synergies with companies in CT Corpora to increase business volume and create new business opportunities," said Bank Mega President Director Kostaman Thayib in a written statement, as quoted on Sunday 9, May.
Bank Mega will also take advantage of the ecosystem and appropriate synergies in creating new products and services that benefit customers and the Bank. In addition, Bank Mega will transform information technology to support the development of retail and digital banking businesses, mitigate operational risks and improve operational cost-efficiency.

For information, Bank Mega recorded a net profit of Rp747 billion in the first quarter of 2021. The value grew 11.6 percent year on year (YoY) from the same period the previous year of Rp669 billion.
Kostaman explained that the profit growth was obtained from net interest income which increased by 17.8 percent YoY to Rp1.2 trillion from the same position the previous year of Rp989 billion.
In addition to net interest income, Bank Mega's profit income was also due to Bank Mega's success in reducing operating costs by 22 percent (YoY) to Rp686 billion from the same period the previous year of Rp887 billion.
Until March 2021, Bank Mega's assets decreased slightly by 0.5 percent year to date (ytd) to Rp111.6 trillion from the position at the end of 2020 of Rp112.2 trillion. As for the collection of third-party funds, Bank Mega recorded a slightly lower growth of 0.9 percent ytd to Rp78.5 trillion from the position at the end of 2020 of Rp79.2 trillion.
