KSAL Promises To Continue Efforts To Evacuate KRI Nanggala-402
JAKARTA - The Chief of Naval Staff (KSAL) Admiral TNI Yudo Margono stated that his party would continue to try to evacuate the KRI Nanggala-402 submarine wreck. The submarine sank to the seabed with a depth of 838 meters in the sea waters north of Bali Island.
"We are still trying to evacuate. Next to us is the MV Swift Rescue ship and there is also the KRI Rigel-933 and other Indonesian Navy ships that are still monitoring the position of KRI Nanggala," said Admiral TNI Yudo Margono, after carrying out the flower sowing ceremony from the KRI. dr. Soeharso in the waters north of Bali Island quoted by Antara, Friday, April 30.
The KSAL said the efforts to evacuate the KRI Nanggala were shown by continuing to alert the Indonesian Navy warships, including the overseas ship (Singapore), the rescue ship MV Swift Rescue in the vicinity of the incident.
He confirmed that the position of the submarine Nanggala-402, which had sunk since April 21, did not shift from where it was originally found in the 1977 German-made submarine.
"Until now (the submarine's position) is not moving or fixed. We have also collaborated with Special Task Force For Oil and Gas (SKK Migas), the ship has the ability to lift loads in the sea depth of 1,000 meters," he said.
In addition, Yudo continued, from the Chinese Navy, which also has a ship with the ability to lift wrecks at a depth of a thousand meters, has offered to help in the effort to lift the KRI Nanggala.
"We have also reported the offer from the Chinese Navy to the TNI Commander, and a ship belonging to the Chinese Navy is also on its way here," he said.

Asked about the evacuation target of KRI Nanggala-402, KSAL emphasized that it would work optimally.
"We don't think there is a need for a target, which means that when the ships (SKK Migas and the Chinese Navy) arrive, they will immediately work. Because this is indeed an evacuation of 838 meters deep and cannot be carried out in a short time, this must be understood," said KSAL.
