Trail Run Tips For Beginners To Avoid Injury
JAKARTA - Trail run is now not just an extreme sport, but also a new lifestyle full of exploration and self-reflection.
But for beginners, there are several things that need to be considered so as not to get injured.
One of the runners who took part in the trail run event, Meili Junita shared tips for novice trail runners.
For him, novice trail runners must consider it a walk first.
"So we don't think of exercising or being tired first, just think of this as a walk first. Even though it's just a 5 km run. We are looking for it to be tired, just enjoy it first," said Meili, when met in Cisadon, Bojong Koneng, Bogor on Thursday, April 17.
According to Meili, the trail run is a gradual process that does not need to be forced.
"Later, we will meet the uphill terrain for a long time, there is a feeling of wanting to try a speedwalk, running a little bit over time. From rest, it is the same as most other activities," he said.

He emphasized the importance of a sufficient recovery. According to him, the most important thing is to take enough time to rest. In addition, you can also steal 1-2 hours of sleep during the afternoon or evening.
"If you want to exercise in the morning, you don't have to wait before the sun comes out. We leave at 6-7 in the morning, that's okay, look for the favor first. Later when it's serious, then look for the competition," he added.
Meili also emphasized that comfort and security are key during the trail run.
"If the trail wants to run, sit for a while or eat first it's halal on the trail. The problem is that the route is not flat, there is grass, stone moves. Moreover, everyone has different training," explained Meili.
Gradual exercise is highly recommended. Regarding trail run techniques, Meili also gave tips.
"If we meet the terrain of uphill, we walk again, raise the thigh, activate the hand power. Use the breath of the stomach so that it doesn't bend. If the road is flat, then run again," he said.
In addition to techniques and field adaptation, the selection of proper equipment is also a vital thing, especially shoes.
"Preparation of trail running uses profit suits, especially for the first time. Slipping or something, it must be considered," saidTEN Go of the New Balance Running Community (NBRC).
"Strength training must be important, heating too. If you finish happily, everyone can finish. But we also don't want it to hit the next day. The selection of shoes is number one," he added.
