DKI Transportation Agency Denies The Entry and Exit Permits Have Been Eliminated
JAKARTA - Head of DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, denied reports of the elimination of entry and exit permits (SIKM) in Jakarta during the period of Eid homecoming prohibition from May 6 to 17.
Syafrin said that the SIKM would still exist to be a requirement for travelers with urgent needs during the period of Eid homecoming prohibition.
"The SIKM remains in effect according to the Circular Letter of the Chairperson of the National COVID-19 Task Force Number 13 of 2021 and Regulation of the Minister of Transportation Number 13 of 2021. It is the guidelines", said Syafrin when confirmed, Tuesday, April 27.
This answered the statement of Traffic Director (Dirlantas) of Regional Police (Polda Metro Jaya) Commissioner Sambodo Purnomo Yogo who admitted that he heard that the DKI Pemprov had not implemented the SIKM.
"The one who issued the SIKM is the local government, not us. In fact, we heard that it was not enforced, but you can just check it with the Head of Transportation Agency (Kadishub)", he said.
For information, the Chairperson of the COVID-19 Handling Task Force Doni Monardo has allowed parties exempted from this year's Eid homecoming ban to travel. However, the requirements must have the SIKM.
"People's trips during the month of Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr are exempted for logistics distribution service vehicles and travelers with urgent needs for non-travelers", said Doni in Circular Letter Number 13 of 2021.
