Increasing COVID-19 Cluster Case In Jakarta Offices, Manpower Agency Admits They Are Overwhelmed In Monitoring The Health Protocols Implementation

JAKARTA - The DKI Provincial Government has recorded an increase in COVID-19 cases in office clusters in Jakarta. In fact, the ranks of the DKI Provincial Government (Pemprov) have a team to monitor compliance with health protocols in the work environment.

However, the Head of DKI Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration, and Energy (Disnakertransgi) Andri Yansyah admitted that he is overwhelmed to monitor all the offices in the city capital.

"To be honest, the comparison between the number of supervisors and the number of companies being supervised is very far from what we do", said Andri when contacted, Monday, April 26.

Andri explained that in general, Disnakertransgi only has 15 teams in DKI which every day evaluate the data required to report the implementation of health protocols (Prokes) in all offices. Meanwhile, the number of offices in Jakarta is around 43 thousand.

"Not only supervisors but we are also accompanied by colleagues from other staff that we are involved with. But that is still not optimal", said Andri.

Not to mention, currently, some teams are in the middle of providing services to employee complaints regarding the payment of holiday allowances (THR) and dismissal disputes (PHK).

"Currently, public complaints are also very high, related to the problem of layoffs, especially near the holidays, there must be many complaints against the holiday allowance. We also cannot ignore this", he explained.

Therefore, Andri emphasized that the most important thing to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in the work environment is awareness to continue to apply health protocols.

"Because if we rely on officers, it is very unlikely that we will cut the COVID-19 chain effectively and optimally", he said.

For information, in its Instagram account, the DKI Provincial Government noted an increase in hundreds of positive cases of COVID-19 in offices in just one week.

In the period April 5-11, 2021, it is said that there are 157 cases of COVID-19 in offices. Cases spread from 78 offices in the capital. Then on April 12-18, the number of cases increased to 425 people in 177 offices. This means, there are an additional 268 patients in one week.
