25 Families In Cianjur Refuge Due To Flooding Have Returned Home
The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) has confirmed that 25 families (KK) in Cipendawa Village, Pacet District, Cianjur Regency whose houses were affected by the flood have returned to their respective homes.
The Head of BPBD Cianjur Regency, Asep Kusmanawijaya, said that floods hit a number of Cianjur areas, including in Cipendawa Village, after heavy rains from Sunday, March 2 to Monday, early March 2, causing river water flow to overflow.
"About 25 families fled early Monday because their houses were flooded as high as half a meter, but now most of them have returned home and cleaned up the mud left over from the flood," he said.
His party asked residents who had returned home to remain vigilant and observant in reading natural signs of a disaster, by immediately evacuating to a place that was considered safe because the rainfall was still high until mid-March.
There were no casualties or houses damaged by the floods that hit a resident's village in Cipendawa Village, because the water receded quickly and residents who had fled were able to return to their respective homes.
"Residents are asked to remain vigilant because the rainfall is still high, immediately evacuate if it rains heavily with an intensity of more than two hours, especially at night," he said.

His party also noted that due to heavy rain with an intensity of almost 24 hours, the connecting bridge between villages in Ciwalen Village, Sukaresmi District collapsed, so that residents' activities were hampered because they had to find a long alternative route.
The collapse of the 20-meter-long permanent bridge with a width of 3 meters due to the eroded foundation at the bottom of the overflowing water discharge, there were no casualties, but residents' activities, especially the economy, were hampered, so it needed quick handling.
"We have coordinated with the relevant agencies at the Cianjur Regency Government, in order to handle it quickly so that residents' activities return to normal, for the time being residents use alternative routes that are quite far and long distance to get to the main road of Sukaresmi," he said.
