Minister Of Agriculture Amran Warns Traders Not To Increase The Price Of Our Minya
JAKARTA - Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Andi Amran Sulaiman, gave warnings (warning) to traders not to increase the price of basic necessities above the highest retail price (HET) ahead of the holy month of Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr 1446 Hijriah.
Minister of Agriculture Amran said the government, according to the direction of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, wanted the public to welcome Ramadan and Eid in peace because the prices of basic commodities were stable.
"Don't play (price). We will give sealing sanctions if traders sell prices above HET's stipulation," he said after opening the General Session of the Higher Education Alumni Organizations Association (Himpuni) in Makassar, South Sulawesi, quoted by Antara, Saturday, February 22.
"I'm here to ignore everything for the little people, it can't be (over HET), don't harm the little people," continued Minister of Agriculture Amran.
He explained that there was no reason to have to increase prices that exceeded the stipulation. Because the stock of basic commodities is available in large quantities, especially cooking oil.
"Moreover, we as the world's largest cooking oil producer, so there should be no increase above the HET," he said.
