Paulus Tannos Extradition Letter From Singapore Signed By Minister Of Law And Human Rights Supratman Andi Agtas

JAKARTA - Minister of Law Supratman Andi Agtas has signed an extradition document for the suspect in the corruption case of procuring an electronic identity card (e-KTP) temporarily detained in Singapore, Paulus Tannos.

"I have also signed a letter requesting extradition in question," Supratman said during a meeting at Commission XIII DPR RI, Monday, February 17.

The repatriation of Paulus Tannos, continued Supratman, was an actual issue at the Directorate General of General Legal Administration (AHU). "And thank God, yesterday, communication with all APH both to the KPK and the Attorney General's Office as well as the Police, we are all together to complete the documents so that as soon as possible (exemption, ed)," said the Gerindra Party politician.

"And thank God, yesterday, the documents should be, God willing, as soon as possible (the completion, ed)," he continued.

While on a separate occasion, Supratman is optimistic about the extradition process. Moreover, Indonesia and Singapore have signed an agreement.

"These are two friendly countries and have signed extradition agreements. However, we only submit letters related to it. Later on regarding the technicalities, the KPK will also handle it together with the International Relations Division of the National Police Headquarters," said Supratman.

As previously reported, the KPK said the file requested by Singapore to extradite its fugitive, Paulus Tannos, would be sent soon. The exact time but the KPK Spokesperson, Tessa Mahardhika, has not yet detailed.

"The information I got from investigators is that next week, all files requested by Singapore will be sent using an introduction from the Ministry of Law," Tessa told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday night, February 14.

Tessa said one of the files requested was that Paulus Tannos would be brought to trial in connection with the corruption case in the procurement of electronic identity cards (e-KTP).

Meanwhile, Paulus Tannos, who is the President Director of PT Sandipala Arthapura, was finally arrested by Singaporean authorities after being on the wanted list since 2021. He was named a suspect in the corruption case in the procurement of electronic identity cards (e-KTP) by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in 2019.

At that time he was named by the KPK as a suspect along with three other people, namely Isnu Edhi Wijaya as the former President Director of the Indonesian State Printing Corporation (PNRI); 2014-2019 DPR RI member Miryam S Haryani; and former Head of the Information Technology Technical Team for the Application of e-KTP Husni Fahmi.
