90 Minutes After 7 Firefighters Were Deployed, The Red Jago Lumat Rumah Warga Ambon Managed To Be Tamped

MALUKU - Ambon City Fire Department (Damkar) deployed seven units of fleets to extinguish fire at residents' houses on Jl. WR Supratman Ambon on Tuesday afternoon.

"We have deployed seven fire engines because it is feared that the fire will spread to the surrounding buildings," said Ambon City Fire Department Head Edwin Pattikawa in Ambon, Tuesday, February 11, which was confiscated by Antara.

He explained that the fire that occurred in the Ambon City office area occurred at 12.30 WIT and the fire was only extinguished at 14.00 WIT or it took 90 minutes.

To contain the fire, the Ambon Damkar deployed seven units of the fleet, including four fire engines, two rescue cars, and one water transport car.

In addition, the fire fighting team was also assisted by officers from the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) and the TNI-Polri.

"We are very grateful that the fire was extinguished quickly and did not cause any casualties," he said.

He revealed that according to witnesses gathered, the fire occurred due to sparks from one of the three cars parked on the terrace of the house.

When there was a spark, the owner of the house did not know about this, so it was too late to extinguish and evacuate valuables.

"There were three cars that caught fire, then the whole house was also burned, according to initial information, the fire came from one of the cars in front and then spread," he said.

He said that until now the amount of losses caused by this fire could not be ascertained.

"The nominal cannot be ascertained, but our estimate is that it could reach billions of rupiah because the fire devoured three cars and a house throughout it," he said.

As a result of the fire, there was a severe traffic jam on several roads in Ambon City such as Jl. Rijali, Jl. General Sudirman and Jl. Tulukabessy. In addition, power outages also occurred in several urban villages.

"Currently, although the fire has been successfully extinguished, we continue to carry out inspections to ensure that no sparks are at risk of causing other fires," said Edwin.

In this regard, he appealed to the public to be aware of the potential for fires from the use of tools that contain electricity.

"Make sure our electronic devices are safe from potential fires before being used for our common safety," he said.
