Former SOE Minister Rini Soemarno Was Examined By The KPK Regarding Allegations Of Corruption In The Sale And Purchase Of Gas PT PGN

JAKARTA - Former SOE Minister Rini Mariani Soemarno was questioned by investigators from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) today, Monday, February 10. He admitted that he was questioned regarding the alleged corruption in the sale and purchase of gas between PT PGN and PT Inti Alasindo Energi (IAE).

"Anyway, I was asked (to reveal as a witness). I was asked to confirm as a witness to the PGN timing program which was acquired by Pertamina," Rini told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday, February 10.

From observations in the field, Rini was seen wearing a pink shirt. His face was covered with a mask when he came out of the building.

Rini didn't talk much about her examination. "Anyway, regarding some information, what's his name, the name of the president director ... there are those who still remember, some have forgotten. It's been 10 years," he said.

Meanwhile, KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika confirmed the examination of Rini Soemarno. He said the statement from the former minister of the era of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) was needed to investigate allegations of corruption that was being handled.

"(Witness, ed) is a criminal act of corruption in the sale and purchase of gas between PT PGN and PT IAE in 2017-2021," said Tessa on a separate occasion.

As previously reported, the KPK on May 13, 2024 announced that it had started an investigation into the alleged corruption case at PT PGN Tbk. in the 2018-2020 fiscal year. The investigation into the alleged corruption case was based on the results of an audit by the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) of the Republic of Indonesia.

The alleged corruption occurred in the process of buying and selling gas between PT PGN and a company with the initials PT IG in 2018-2020, and is said to have caused state finances of up to hundreds of billions of rupiah.

The KPK has also asked the Directorate General of Immigration for two people abroad. Based on information, they are Danny Praditya who is the commercial director of PT PGN for the 2016-2019 period and serves as President Director of PT Inalum.

Meanwhile, another person is Iswan Ibrahim who is also the president director of PT Isargas.
