KPU Set Bobby Nasution-Surya Cagub-Cawagub North Sumatra Elected

The General Election Commission (KPU) of North Sumatra appointed the pair Muhammad Bobby Nasution-Surya as the elected candidate pair (paslon) in the 2024 North Sumatra Governor and Deputy Governor Election.

This determination was announced in an open plenary meeting chaired by the Chairman of the North Sumatra Provincial KPU Agus Arifin who was accompanied by all local KPU members in Medan, Wednesday.

"Determining Muhammad Bobby Nasution and Surya as a pair of candidates for election results for the Governor and Deputy Governor of North Sumatra," said Agus Arifin as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, February 5.

In the North Sumatra Pilkada, November 27, 2024, the pair Muhammad Bobby Nasution-Surya received 3,645,611 votes from 10,771,496 people listed on the permanent voter list (DPT).

The determination of the elected candidate pair is contained in the North Sumatra Provincial KPU Decree Number 139 of 2024 on February 5, 2025.

"This plenary meeting of determination is also a follow-up to the Constitutional Court Decision No. 247/PKPU.Gub-XXII/2025," he said.

After being determined, the Chairman of the North Sumatra Provincial KPU accompanied by all local KPU members symbolically handed over a copy of the minutes of determining the elected candidate pair to the Muhammad Bobby Nasution-Surya pair.

Agus said that his party would propose a selected candidate pair to the relevant policy makers to undergo the next process.

"This decision is effective from the date of stipulation, set in Medan on February 5, 2025," he said.

In the 2024 Pilkada of North Sumatra, 5,885,744 people exercise their right to vote. They use the right to vote in 25,223 polling stations (TPS) spread across 455 urban villages and 6,110 villages.
