Long Holiday, Congestion In North Sukabumi Can Be Controlled

The Sukabumi Police Traffic Unit (Satlantas) stated that the traffic density due to the soaring volume of vehicles on the northern route of Sukabumi Regency, West Java, or from the direction of Jabodetabek to Sukabumi on Sunday, January 26, 2025, could be controlled.

"The increase in vehicles entering the Sukabumi Regency area occurred from morning to sunset which caused traffic flow at several points in the northern route to stagnate, but there was no severe congestion," said Head of the Sukabumi Police Gakum Satlantas Ipda M Fajar Yanuar, Sunday, January 25, 2025.

According to Fajar, the potential for increasing the volume of vehicles entering Sukabumi Regency, especially from the direction of Bogor, during the long holidays of Isra Mi'raj and the Chinese New Year 2576 Kongzili in 2025, was anticipated previously.

Every potential that triggers traffic jams or accumulation of vehicles is directly handled by Sukabumi Police Traffic Unit personnel together with other joint officers by breaking down, so that the flow of vehicles continues.

There are several points where traffic flow stagnates, such as around the Parungkuda and Cibadak Toll exits. Meanwhile, for the southern coastal tourist route, Sukabumi Regency, the flow of normal traffic tends to be quiet and there is no increase in the volume of vehicles.

"We have made a strategy to control traffic flow if the volume of vehicles entering Sukabumi suddenly jumps, such as breaking down, directing some vehicles to alternative routes to engineering traffic flow, including opening road closures and diverting routes," he added.

From observations at several points prone to vehicle density in the northern region of Sukabumi Regency, the accumulation of vehicles leading to Sukabumi had occurred at the Parungkuda Toll exit.

As of 21.30 WIB, there are still many vehicles leaving the Parungkuda Toll Exit and crossing Jalan Parungkuda, but for smooth traffic conditions. Different during the afternoon and late afternoon, at that location the traffic flow had stalled.

The same is true around Cibadak Market, where in the afternoon to evening the traffic flow was congested and there was a traffic jam, but it did not last long because the police officers who were on standby immediately dispersed and arranged.
