LSI Survey: Only 9.3 Percent Of Civil Servants Claimed That They Receive Money From Outside Of Official Provisions
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI) released an opinion poll regarding the perception of civil servants (PNS) on the intensity of receiving non-regulatory rewards.
As a result, only a few civil servants thought that there were frequent cases of PNS receiving money or gifts outside the official provisions. Meanwhile, many civil servants consider this to be very rare.
"Only 9.3 percent considered that they often received money or gifts outside the official provisions of a party. The majority of civil servants, 76.1 percent, considered it rare. While 14.6 did not answer", said LSI Executive Director Djayadi Hanan in a virtual survey presentation on Sunday, April 18th.
Furthermore, civil servants were asked about the position of more corrupt activities. As a result, 47.2 percent of civil servants said that in the procurement section, 16.0 percent said that in the section on business licensing, 10.4 percent in the section for finance.

Then, 9.3 percent in the service department, 4.4 percent in the personnel department, 11.6 percent for civil servants did not answer. "The procurement division is considered to have the most corrupt activities, 47.2 percent", said Djayadi.
Furthermore, the majority of civil servants, namely 49 percent, considered that the factor of receiving money outside the provisions was the highest due to lack of supervision.
Then in the next position is the closeness of civil servants with those who gave money with 37.1 percent, then political interference from those in power with 34.8 percent.
"Other factors that are considered less are due to low wages, culture, getting additional money, no clear provisions, rarely punishment if caught, perpetrators do not understand, are supported by superiors, perceptions of civil servants' rights, and fear of being isolated", he concluded.
