Ahok Affirms ISIS Teachings Of Satan In Today's Memory, January 17, 2016
JAKARTA Memories of today, nine years ago, January 17, 2016, the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) emphasized that the teachings of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) are teachings of the devil. Muslims, according to him, like peace, not terror.
Previously, the Sarinah Bomb terror action carried a stir throughout Indonesia. The action claimed lives and brought fear throughout the country. Recently, ISIS has been considered the mastermind of acts of terror.
Terror acts are like a frightening scourge in Indonesia. This condition is because Indonesia has a long history of being hit by terrorist groups' terror acts. Take for example bomb terror acts in the Jalan MH Thamrin area, Central Jakarta on January 14, 2016.
Jakarta residents at that time had been active as usual. The expatriates also seemed to enjoy their time. Later a terrorist committed suicide bombing at Starbucks outlet in Cakrawala Building.
Visitors were excited. They ran out and provoked understanding from other people. Not over the excitement of other actions emerged. Other terrorists tried to blow up the police post in front of the Sarinah building.

The action left two civilians dead. A policeman on guard was also seriously injured by the bomb. The bomb that exploded was not the end of the terror act. The tense atmosphere was used by the remaining two terrorists to move against the police.
The shootout took place. However, the police managed to stop acts of terror. Four terrorists and several civilians died. The action spread rapidly in cyberspace. National mass media are also spreading important information.
Lately, ISIS is considered the mastermind behind acts of terrorism. Several foreign embassies immediately appealed to their citizens not to go anywhere until the situation and conditions were safe.
"Our strong suspicion is that this is from the Islamic State group. The perpetrators are probably all Indonesian citizens. There were 26 victims, seven people died and 19 were injured, including five police officers who were seriously injured," said Head of the Public Relations Division of the Indonesian Police, Anton Charliyan, quoted by the ANTARA website, January 14, 2016.
This grief made the Islamic State group criticized. Groups that want the Islamic State to be enforced everywhere actually use violence as an administrative. Instead of getting sympathy, the move was cursed.
The Governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahok strongly condemned ISIS' terror acts on January 17, 2016. Ahok emphasized that what ISIS is fighting for is the teaching of the devil. He considers ISIS impossible to carry out God's orders because of the dominant teachings of violence and terror.
Ahok revealed that Islam brought peace. He brought the message when he inaugurated the Rusunawa Marunda mosque. He did not want the people of Rusunawa Marunda to be influenced by heretical teachings in the style of ISIS. He also emphasized that Islam, to his knowledge, does not hate other religions, including Christianity.
"Islamic teachings are rahmatan lil alamin. What ISIS teaches is the teachings of Satan. There is no prophet teaching something like that," Ahok said as quoted on Kompas.com page, January 17, 2016.
