JAKARTA - The Banda Aceh Police have arrested a suspect in sexual harassment and rape of a minor, who committed this act with an alternative mode of treatment.

"The relationship between the victim and the suspect is only limited to people who are believed to be able to treat illness. So the mode is alternative medicine," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Banda Aceh Police, Kompol Fadillah Aditya Pratama, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, January 9.

Fadillah said the case initially occurred in June 2024 in the Banda Aceh area.

At that time, the 15-year-old victim was taken by her parents to the suspect's house, who was believed to be able to treat lymph nodes in the victim.

In the treatment process, the perpetrator sexually abused and raped the victim three times in different locations. In fact, the suspect also had time to take the victim to Southwest Aceh Regency. Harassment also occurred there.

The suspect also ordered the victim to stay in his place. The reason given is that the victim can only be cured if he lives together. Until, the victim and his parents followed the direction.

"However, the suspect's actions were only carried out when the victim's father came out to go to work to open a shop," he said.

After carrying out the action, continued Fadillah, the suspect also threatened the victim not to tell anyone about his actions if he still wanted to be treated.

"The suspect threatened the victim not to tell anyone. Because if the victim tells the story, the suspect will not treat the victim anymore," said Fadillah.

After a series of investigations into the report, the perpetrator with the initials IT was arrested on January 7, 2025 in the North Aceh Regency area.

Based on the testimony of witnesses, the suspect has been in the field of alternative medicine for about a year. For the victim, so far one person.

For his actions, the suspect TI was charged with Article 50 in conjunction with Article 47 of Aceh Qanun Number 6 of 2014 concerning Jinayat Law, or caning.

"The perpetrator is threatened with being punished with uqubat caning at least 150 times, and a maximum of 200 times, or imprisonment for a maximum of 200 months, as well as a maximum fine of 2,000 grams of pure gold," said Kompol Fadillah.
