President Jokowi Urges School Children Not To Waste Using KIP In Today's Memory, January 8, 2017
JAKARTA Memories of today, eight years ago, January 8, 2017, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) appealed to school children to use the Smart Indonesia Card (KIP) visit not to be wasteful. Its use is only for school purposes.
Money from KIP can be spent on buying uniforms, books, etc. Jokowi does not want KIP money to be used to buy credit. Previously, the Jokowi government relied on KIP to help student education from underprivileged families. KIP was first launched in 2014.
Jokowi often uses magic card lessons in every campaign event. Various magic cards were his lessons during the DKI Jakarta Governor's campaign. He also realized a campaign promise which was later known as the Smart Jakarta Card (KJP) for equitable access to education.
Jokowi tried to give the same solution when he campaigned as a presidential candidate in the 2014 presidential election. He relied on KIP. He considers KIP as a form of educational assistance program from the government for underprivileged children.
Jokowi views KIP as his teachings in opening wide access to education for children from underprivileged families. This means that Jokowi tries to penetrate the boundaries and eliminates the notion that education is only accessed by the rich.
As a result, KIP was launched in 2014. The launch was marked by various problems. This condition occurs because the KIP program has not matured properly. Many distributions of funds that are not still targeted. Those who do not have the right to receive KIP actually get it.
Not to mention those who should be entitled to KIP have not received it. The physical form is unknown. There are also other problems of changing their real name and name in KIP are different. The problem in the form of KIP is not accompanied by virtual accounts and is also piled up.
However, the distribution of KIP will slowly be improved. The power of attorney has begun to finalize many things so that students from underprivileged families can access the benefits of KIP.
"It has to get into the hands of students at school. That's not the case, not much. There is something like that. But yes, that's normal. It's also called 17.9 million children (target KIP per year), so something like that is normal. . "
"No, it's not big. We just need to make it effective, we can overcome it. We are accelerating the distribution of KIP according to the President's instructions. Hopefully by the end of the year it will be finished," said Minister of Education and Culture, Muhadjir Effendy as quoted by the COMPASS.com page, 16 August 2016.

The KIP problem is not only felt by the Ministry of Education and Culture. President Jokowi also followed developments from KIP. He received reports that KIP funds were not used properly. Instead of being used for KIP to buy study equipment, the funds are actually used for other things.
Jokowi found that the example of the KIP case actually took to buy credit. In fact, the KIP funds were immediately taken completely. This condition made Jokowi speak up on January 8, 2017. Jokowi appealed to students to use KIP in buying school needs, and the rest to save.
Jokowi wants KIP recipients not to be wasteful. Jokowi also doesn't want KIP money to be used to buy credit or other necessities outside the school. The government's sanctions will be KIP concerned.
"I really put it in use for purposes related to school, buying books, buying shoes, buying uniforms, buying bags. Don't use it to buy credit. Take IDR 25 thousand first, right. Later in the second month IDR 50 thousand, later the end of the year is left. Don't waste money," President Jokowi's message as quoted on the State Secretariat website, January 8, 2017.
