Mendikdasmen Calls There Has Been No Evaluation Of Curriculum

SEMARANG - Minister of Elementary and Secondary Education Abdul Mu'ti said there had been no specific evaluation regarding the education curriculum imposed in schools.

"We have not yet had an evaluation (curriculum, ed.). So, our policy now is the Independent Curriculum and the K13 Curriculum, both of which are still valid," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, January 6.

This was conveyed after a public lecture at the Semarang State University (Unnes).

According to him, the Ministry of Education and Culture is currently preparing "deep learning" as a strategy to improve the quality of education.

He said the academic study "deep learning" had been completed, but still had to wait for public input to improve it.

"The academic study has been completed and we are waiting for input from the public to improve academic studies," he said.

Previously, Mu'ti said "deep learning" or in-depth learning is a learning approach to increase students' capacity, and not an education curriculum.

"Deep learning' is not a curriculum. It's a learning approach," he said, responding to conversations on social media that were busy about the new curriculum "deep learning" which is considered to replace the Independent Curriculum.

The Ministry of Education and Culture is still reviewing the education curriculum that will be applied in Indonesia and has not decided to replace the Independent Curriculum.

"There has been no decision regarding that. What I convey is about the learning approach," he said.
