Lion Dance Training Boy In Malaysia Found Dead Disbanded, Police Investigate Possibility Of Overdose Of Drugs

JAKARTA - The Malaysian Police are investigating the possibility of a drug overdose against the death of a 15-year-old boy who went missing after a lion dance exercise.

Selangor Police Chief Hussein Omar Khan said his party was waiting for a toxicology and post-mortem report to strengthen the element of the investigation of the case.

"We are still waiting for the results of the toxicology to determine whether the deceased (victim) has consumed drugs," he said at a press conference at the Selangor police contingent headquarters, Friday, January 3, quoted from Bernama.

"Until we receive the results (oxycology and post-mortem), we cannot confirm whether he has used drugs or overdosed," he continued.

The boy named Yap Xin Yuan disappeared after saying goodbye to his family's lion dance practice at the Batu 11, Cheras basketball court, Malaysia, Thursday, December 19.

Hussein added that the victim's body was found in a severe decomposed condition in RTB Sungai Changgang, Kuala Langat, Malaysia, Saturday, December 28. This condition makes it difficult for pathologists to confirm the potential for physical injuries.

However, Hussein said police did not rule out the possibility of the victim's girlfriend being involved in the disposal of the victim's body.

"Whether anyone else helped dispose of the body is still under investigation," he said.

In the case of the disappearance of Yap Xin Yuan until he was found dead with a rotting body, the Malaysian Police have named three suspects aged 16, 20, and 51, including the victim's girlfriend.
