Telegram's Cool Achievements In 2024, Total Revenue Of More Than IDR 16 Trillion

JAKARTA - Telegram founder and CEO, Pavel Durov said that his instant messaging application had succeeded in printing a new milestone in 2024.

In a statement on his Telegram channel, Durov revealed that for the first time in three years since starting monetization, Telegram has managed to reach a point of advantage.

Durov revealed, this year, the number of Premium Telegram subscribers has tripled, surpassing 12 million. In addition, their advertising revenue also increased several times.

"As a result, Telegram's total revenue in 2024 surpassed $1 billion and we closed the year with more than $500 million in cash reserves, excluding GOLD crypto assets," he said.

In fact, Durov added, Telegram has managed to pay off most of the total US$2 billion (Rp32.33 trillion) debt issued in the last four years.

According to him, Telegram's success was driven by the various innovations they presented in the monetization model, including new features such as Bintang, Mini Application, Telegram Business, and Gateway.

"Our innovation in this year's monetization shows that Social Prizes, Free Prizes, Affiliated Platforms, Telegram media platforms can achieve financial sustainability while remaining independent and respecting user rights," he added.

Finally, he also reaffirmed Telegram's commitment to its users. "The goal of monetization is to ensure that you, our users, will always be our number one priority," he concluded.
