Head Of Army Central Hospital Dr. Albertus Budi: House of Representatives Members Become Samples Of Nusantara Vaccine

JAKARTA - Head of Gatot Soebroto Army Central Hospital (RSPAD) Lieutenant General of the National Army dr. Albertus Budi Sulistya said, today a number of members of the House of Representatives became a sample of Nusantara vaccine research at Gatot Soebroto Hospital, Jakarta, Wednesday, April 14.

"They are undergoing research in accordance with research protocols," Budi said when confirmed in Jakarta, as reported by Antara.

According to him, if the results prove there is an acquisition of immunity to COVID-19, both cellular and humoral with the provision of vaccines Nusantara, will be a new discovery.

"It's been an amazing and safe discovery," Budi said.

If the Indonesian nation has a national vaccine, regardless of brand, whether it is Nusantara vaccine, Merah Putih, or others, Indonesia will be aligned with the big country.

"Indonesia will be aligned with the major countries and have the nation's self-esteem while also helping the national economy," he said.

Currently, Budi added, Indonesia still relies on other countries' vaccines.

Previously, the Chairman of the National Mandate Party (PAN) Faction of the House of Representatives Saleh Partaonan Daulay revealed the reason he participated in the COVID-19 vaccination by using the Nusantara vaccine, one of which is effective in order to increase immunity.

"Wednesday morning, I and dozens of other friends came to Army Central Hospital (RSPAD), the goal is to follow vaccinations using Nusantara vaccine. Interest in Nusantara vaccine is very high, as evidenced by the long queues that exist," Saleh said in Jakarta on Wednesday.

He explained the reason he wanted to participate in the vaccination, among others has discussed with the vaccine researchers from Indonesia and the United States (USA).

Saleh received a full explanation related to the Nusantara vaccine and believes that the vaccination is very good and effective in order to increase immunity.

Second, he said again, already talking to people who have been vaccinated with the Nusantara vaccine. The vaccine has no side effects and its effectiveness is excellent.

"After vaccinating, they measured their immunity levels. Evidently, their immunity levels rose quite high. They then recommended this vaccine to others, including me," he said.

Members of Commission IX of the House of Representatives mentioned the third reason, namely the Nusantara vaccine is very potential to be developed in Indonesia, especially President Jokowi has requested that Indonesia prioritize domestic products.

Therefore, Saleh considers the Nusantara vaccine should be one example of domestic products that need to get the support and attention of the government.

He hopes that Indonesia's sovereignty and independence can be guaranteed in the field of health and medicine.

According to him, currently Indonesia is still dependent on other countries. When embargoed, vaccination programs and schedules are immediately disrupted. Therefore, the importance of independence and sovereignty over the COVID-19 vaccine.

Saleh said that his presence at Army Central Hospital (RSPAD) Wednesday morning had just taken his blood sample. After that, 7 days later had to come back to the hospital to be injected with the Nusantara vaccine.
