Trump Values Biden "Stupid" Disbursing Military Aid For Ukraine Against Russia
JAKARTA - The effort to pour an arms aid package to the Ukrainian military to fight Russia with a fantastic value by United States (US) President Joe Biden ahead of stepping down, was strongly criticized by US President-elect Donald Trump.
“I don't think that should be allowed. No, if there was a possibility - of course not, just a few weeks before I took over,” Trump told a wide-ranging press conference at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, US, Monday, December 16 local time, as quoted by AFP, Tuesday, December 17.
Trump also expressed anger that during the transition of government, his party was not involved in discussions regarding military assistance policies, one of which allowed Ukrainian troops to use US weapons to attack Russia remotely.
Biden gave Ukraine the long-dreamed-of permission to use US high-mobility artillery rocket systems, or HIMARS, to attack Russian soldiers hundreds of miles from its border.
“Why would they do that without asking me what I had in mind? I wouldn't let them do that. I think it was a big mistake,” Trump said.
Trump emphasized that Biden was “stupid”. Trump also opened the possibility of canceling military aid to Ukraine after being inaugurated.
“Maybe [scrapping military aid to Ukraine]. I think it was a very stupid thing to do,” Trump said.

In response, the White House dismissed the allegations against the Biden Administration. The White House said the policy of military assistance to Ukraine was made after months of deliberation before the US presidential election last month.
“What I can confirm is that in the conversations that we've had with them since the election, and that we've had at various levels, we've explained to them the logic behind it, the thinking behind it, why we did it,” White House national security spokesman John Kirby said of the Joe Biden administration's coordination in the transition period ahead of Trump's leadership.
