Head Of BP Taskin Admits He Will Imitate Brazil-China Ways To Solve Poverty
JAKARTA - Head of the Poverty Reduction Acceleration Agency (BP Taskin), Budiman Sujatmiko, said the government was studying the success of Brazil and China in alleviating poverty to be implemented in national policies.
Budiman said the two countries were considered successful in reducing poverty by two main factors, namely integrated single data and solid coordination between government institutions.
"Reflecting on the experiences of the two countries that have just been visited by President Prabowo, namely China and Brazil, these two countries are two countries that are considered successful or successful in alleviating poverty," Budiman said after a coordination meeting at the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture, Jakarta, Friday, December 6, was confiscated by Antara.
He explained, there are two schools or ways from each country to reduce poverty.
In Brazil, poverty alleviation relies more on social protection in the form of direct cash transfer assistance (BLT) and social assistance (Bansos), which provides direct support to the poor.
Meanwhile, China is more focused on economic empowerment and people's development through programs that encourage local economic growth.
Although the two countries have different approaches, Budiman emphasized that they succeeded, because they had one thing in common, namely the use of integrated data and synergy between various institutions from the center to districts/cities to achieve it.
"The Mazhab approach to poverty alleviation is different, but why are they both successful? Not because the approach is different, but they have the same method, what method? The data combined into one, not scattered," said Budiman.

"The spirit we take from Brazil and China is the importance of integrated data management and inter-institutional integration to accelerate poverty alleviation in Indonesia," said Budiman.
The government hopes that with these steps, poverty in Indonesia can be significantly reduced in a faster time.
