Death Toll Reaches 44,500, PLO Affirms Israel's Aggression In Gaza Must Be Stopped Immediately

JAKARTA - The Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) has urged that Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip be stopped immediately, as the dead and injured continue to grow.

The Executive Committee confirmed the call late Tuesday, on the sidelines of a meeting held in Ramallah City, West Bank.

The meeting discussed the latest developments in the situation in Palestine, particularly the increasing Israeli aggression against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Jerusalem.

The committee reiterated the priority of the Palestinian leadership, most importantly the immediate cessation of Israeli aggression in Gaza, the withdrawal of occupation troops from all parts of the Gaza Strip and the acceleration of the entry of humanitarian aid to reduce the impact of the humanitarian disaster in the Gaza Strip, quoted from WAFA Dec. 4.

On the occasion, the committee unanimously adopted a series of procedures to ensure the realization of the Palestinian people's national rights and political principles of freedom, independence and the formation of a Palestinian state, with Jerusalem as its capital.

Separately, Gaza's health authorities confirmed as of Tuesday that the death toll from the Israeli attacks since October 7, 2023 has increased to 44,502, while the injured reached 105,454. The majority of victims were women and children.
