DPR Holds Solidarity Action For Palestine, Starting From Opening Clothing Banks To Charity
JAKARTA - The House of Representatives' Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Agency (BKSAP) held a solidarity action for Palestinian independence over Israeli militancy. Starting from opening clothes banks to charity collection and other assistance for victims of violence in Gaza.
Chairman of the DPR BKSAP Mardani Ali Sera said his party wanted to add real action to help Palestine by holding a Parliamentary Solidarity event for Palestine.
The kick off of this activity was held on Wednesday, November 20, through a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) activity at the DPR Building, Jakarta with various sources. The FGD carries the theme Humanitarian Solidarity to Support Palestine's Struggle: Opportunities and Challenges.
"We have a debt of helping Palestinian independence as they have shown by becoming the second country to recognize Indonesia's independence in 1945. Therefore, the DPR is currently initiating various activities so that people feel closer to the Palestinian issue," said Mardani in his statement to reporters, Thursday, November 21.
Apart from Mardani, there are a number of figures who are resource persons in the FGD, namely the Palestinian Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia Zuhair Saleh Muhammad Al-Shu, the Head of the EMT MER-C 5 Team for Gaza Dany Kurniadi, to several academics.
Mardani stated that Indonesia's support for Palestinian independence must not stop. He hopes that through parliamentary solidarity activities, the community will also participate as a tangible form of contribution in supporting and assisting Palestine.
BKSAP, he continued, also opened a charity action of the Clothing Bank which was carried out as a form of collecting donations for victims in Gaza and holding a solidarity run on Friday, November 22, tomorrow.

"Our clothing bank is open from November 20 to 29, whose booth is in the DPR, precisely in the corridor of Nusantara II Building. We will collect and sell it back. The proceeds from the sale will be donated to our brothers and sisters in Gaza," he explained.
Meanwhile, Solidarity Run is open to the public and free. Tomorrow at the event there will also be live paining to be auctioned off. We will donate the results to help the Palestinian people," continued Mardani.

In line with this, Mardani said, the Indonesian House of Representatives together with the Turkish parliament and several other countries will make a joint event in February 2025, as a form of support for Palestinian independence and for Israel to stop genocide in Palestine, especially Gaza.
"We have started preparing from now on," said Mardani.
