Wamenaker Make Sure There Are No Layoffs For Sritex Workers
Deputy Minister of Manpower Immanuel Ebenezer Gerungan said his party had confirmed the truth that there were no layoffs against PT Sri Rejeki Isman Tbk (Sritex) workers.
He revealed that the results of his visit to the textile factory in the Sukoharjo area, Central Java on Friday last week.
"Sritex is positive. We are still focusing on no termination of employment (PHK) because I came there to make sure there were no layoffs at Sritex," said Deputy Minister Noel as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, November 20.
Although previously the company's management said there were no layoffs, he wanted to make sure that in terms of workers or laborers there were no layoffs.
"I don't want to come from the management point of view, I also asked my fellow workers, is there a layoff? There is no answer from my fellow workers. Then I went to the trade union. It means that I or this issue is not from one point of view, so from the union and fellow workers too," he said.
Meanwhile, regarding the 2,500 workers who were laid off, Wamenaker revealed that the company is still paying its obligations.
"Still being paid, it's still an obligation," he said.
PT Sri Rejeki Isman (Sritex) confirmed that there was no termination of employment (PHK) for 2,500 workers at the textile company.
"Sritex has not laid off. Sritex has not laid off and is in this bankruptcy status. However, Sritex has dismissed around 2,500 of our employees," said President Director of PT Sri Rejeki Isman Tbk or Sritex Iwan Kurniawan Lukminto.

Iwan explained that the employee who was closed was due to problems regarding the supply of stalled raw materials. He also admitted that workers who were closed still get salaries.
Iwan said that this number will continue to increase if there is no decision from the curator and supervisory judge for business sustainability permits, because the standard availability is said to be only able to survive production for the next three weeks.
