Social Minister Khofifah Indar Parawansa Optimistic That Indonesia Is Free Of Street Children Achieved In Today's Memory, November 20, 2017
JAKARTA Memories of today, seven years ago, November 20, 2017, the Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos), Khofifah Indar Parawansa is optimistic that Indonesia's target of being free of street children will be achieved. This optimism is wrapped with the presence of the Social Movement Towards a Street Children Free Indonesia.
Previously, the mandate of the 1945 Constitution emphasized that the poor and neglected children (street children) must be cared for by the state. They deserve prosperity. However, the mandate of the 1945 Constitution and what happens in the field are two different things.
Article 33 Paragraph One of the 1945 Constitution emphasizes that the poor and neglected children are cared for by the state. This means that the government contributes to the welfare of their lives. However, the reality is not so.
Bejibun program tidak membuat Indonesia benar-benar bebas anak jalan. Meskipun tren kehadiran anak jalanan semakin menurun. Kehadiran anak jalanan berpotensi terus terjadi. Kondisi itu lebih paraksa Indonesia mengalami krisis.
Their presence adds to new problems. the absence of work skills makes the fate of street children even more unfortunate. They mostly only take advantage of the streets of big cities to beg. In fact, this nestapa condition made their option to enter the black world so high.

The government has not yet had a command to overcome the problems of street children. Each city seems to have its own teachings in tackling the affairs of street children. Take the example of the Padang City Government, West Sumatra.
They launched a program for handling street children. The program was deliberately created to realize the ideals of the 1945 Constitution, or pay attention to neglected children. They will be given education and training.
The goal is that they can have a bright future. Mental children try to be forged so that they are resilient in life.
"We will cooperate with Korem 032 Wirabraja in shaping the mentality of street children so that they are better prepared to face the future. They will be trained and given guidance in a long period of time so that their mentality is well formed," said Padang Mayor Mahyeldi Ansharullah as quoted by the ANTARA website, August 10, 2017.
Minister of Social Affairs Khofifah Indar Parawansa realized that the problem of repeating street children was like walking alone. He also witnessed for himself how the positive trend of street children decreased. Data from the Ministry of Social Affairs revealed that from 2006 street children reached 232,894 to 16,290 street children in August 2017.
Khofifah also wants all levels of government to vote in tackling the affairs of street children on November 20, 2017. Togetherness is considered the key to success so that there will be no more neglected children in Indonesia.
He was then optimistic that Indonesia's target to be free from street children would be achieved. He expressed this optimism with the presence of the Social Movement Towards a Street Children-Free Indonesia. He considered the message not just an empty message because the Ministry of Social Affairs would continue to tackle street children.
"I am optimistic that Indonesia's target of Free Street Children can be achieved immediately. Everything happens if we work together to move to comb and prepare a good protection and care program for them".
"To netizens, let's go viral for this social movement towards a Street Children-Free Indonesia. Don't let the nation's young generation live on the streets," said Khofifah as quoted by the COMPASS.com page, November 20, 2017.
