Students Again Invite The Public To Boycott, Spread The '5 Criteria For Israel's Affiliated Products' Banner

JAKARTA - Students in Jakarta, Bogor, Banten, Bandung, Pekalongan and a number of areas in Indonesia have again voiced the boycott of products affiliated with Israel.

This call coincides with the one year issuance of the Fatwa of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) No.83 concerning Support for Palestine.

Student Solidarity Coordinator for the Palestinian People (SMURP), Andrian said, his party invites all levels of society in various regions to continue boycotting all types of products affiliated with Israel.

"We deliberately installed a boycott banner of Israeli affiliated products to remind the people of Indonesia. Please don't forget Palestine because genocide has not yet been completed. The product boycott action is one of the actions we can take and has proven effective in suppressing the movement space of Israeli-affiliated companies," Andrian said in his official statement, Friday, November 15, confiscated by Antara.

He explained that students unfurled banners containing 'Five Criteria for Israel's Affiliated Products' based on guidelines from the MUI as well as displaying Israeli-affiliated products to be avoided by people taking place in campus areas.

Israel's affiliated products include Starbucks, Danone Aqua, Nestle, Zara, Kraft Heinz, Unilever, Coca Cola Group, McDonalds, Mondelez, Burger King and so on. More than that, students also condemned the Israeli attack which was still being carried out on the evacuation tents of Palestinians in Gaza.

Israel's Genocide to Palestine has claimed the death toll beyond 43,000, with more than 101,000 others injured and most of the dead being women and children.

According to him, these products clearly channel their profits to Israeli zionists. SMURP and students will begin to expand the boycott movement across campuses throughout Indonesia.

Andrian continued that the impact of this boycott of Israel's affiliated products was very effective in weakening Israeli-affiliated foreign companies.

He also stated that the Palestinian liberation struggle was not over. Therefore, he emphasized to the entire community to continue to boycott Israeli-affiliated products, according to MUI's direction and switch to using domestic or national products.

"The struggle for the liberation of Palestine has not yet been completed, it remains a boycott. Don't slack off according to MUI's recommendation. After the boycott, we switch to national products," he said.
