Attorney General Asked To Explain Tom Lembong's Case, House Of Representatives Commission III: Could This Be Ordered
JAKARTA - Member of Commission III of the DPR RI from the NasDem faction, Rudianto Lalo asked Attorney General St Burhanuddin to explain the issue of determining Thomas Trikasih Lembong or Tom Lembong as suspects in alleged corruption in sugar imports.
Rudianto reminded the public not to judge that the Tom Lembong case was ordered by a handful of parties.
"The law must be fair and fair. Like the example of the Tom Lembong case. There is no wind, no rain is suddenly declared by the suspect. Of course it raises perception in the public, is this case purely law enforcement or may this case be an order, an order?" said Lalo during a working meeting with Commission III of the DPR, Wednesday, November 13.
"Because what we are afraid of is that there is a perception in the public, the perception in society that law enforcement is always tendentious. It only targets certain people, targeting old cases. So that's why we don't want it, sir," he continued.
Nevertheless, Lalo believes that the Attorney General can handle this sugar import corruption case professionally in accordance with applicable law.
"I believe that the Attorney General always straightens and purifys law enforcement," he said.
