The House Of Representatives Approves 2 New Ministries, What Are They?
JAKARTA - The House of Representatives approved the merger and establishment of new ministries in a plenary meeting of the House of Representatives held Friday, April 9. Namely, the merger of some tasks of the Ministry of Research and Technology with the Ministry of Education and Culture so that it becomes the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Technology.
In addition to the merger, all factions in the House of Representatives also agreed on the establishment of a new Ministry, namely the Ministry of Investment and Job Creation.
"We as the chairman of the meeting will ask the esteemed council session, whether the decision of the Deliberative Body (Bamus) meeting in lieu of a consultation meeting on the consideration of merger and the establishment of ministries can be approved", said Vice Chairman of the House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad in the plenary meeting.
All participants, both live and virtual, expressed their approval.
"Agreed", replied the board member.

Furthermore, Dasco said, that the House of Representatives has received the presidential letter Number R-14/Pres/03/2021 regarding the Consideration of Changing the Ministry. The letter has been followed up through a consultation meeting in lieu of the Bamus meeting on 8 April 2021 which agreed on the merger and establishment of the Ministry.
The Gerindra politician explained that the decision-making on the merger and establishment of the Ministry was based on Article 19 paragraph 1 of Law 39/2008 concerning the Ministry of State.
"That states that the change as a result of the separation or merger of ministries is done with the consideration of the House of Representatives", Dasco said.
