5 Kidnappers Of Foreign Citizens In Malaysia Arrested, Victims Escapeing From Building

JAKARTA - The Selangor Malaysia Police said they had arrested five perpetrators of kidnapping foreign nationals in Sepang.

Selangor Police Chief Hussein Omar Khan said the kidnapping took place on October 18. At that time, victims who were Chinese nationals going to Kuala Lumpur International Airport were stopped by a car at Putrajaya Toll Plaza.

Four foreign nationals got out of the car and kidnapped the victim, who was then taken and locked up in a place in the federal capital. A ransom of RM 300,000 has been requested from the victim's family," he said when met by reporters after opening a multipurpose hall at the police headquarters of the South Klang district, Friday, October 25, quoted by Bernama.

Omar Khan added that the victim was injured after jumping from the building to escape on October 19. The victim was then rushed to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for treatment.

The police moved to arrest five suspects, one of whom was a Malaysian citizen on October 22.

Omar Khan said, for investigation purposes based on Article 363 of the Criminal Code concerning kidnapping, the police detained four foreign suspects aged around 40 years until October 28.

Meanwhile, suspects who are Malaysians were detained until October 29.
