Prabowo Pursues Food Self-Sufficiency, Fertilizer Boss Gets Task Of Maintaining Availability
JAKARTA - The state-owned fertilizer producer company, PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero), received special directions to support President Prabowo Subiato's mission to realize food self-sufficiency in Indonesia.
President Director of Pupuk Indonesia, Rahmad Pribadi revealed that in order to achieve food self-sufficiency targers, his party was asked to ensure the availability of fertilizers, both subsidies and non-subsidized.
Including, continued Rahmad, ensuring that the distribution of subsidized fertilizers can be right on target and according to the rules through digital platforms owned by Pupuk Indonesia.
"It is certain that we are asked to ensure the availability of fertilizers, support all government efforts to achieve food security. We will distribute the subsidy fertilizer according to the rules," said Rahmad when met at the Ministry of SOEs Office, Jakarta, Wednesday, October 23.
In addition, Rahmad also emphasized that he would support government programs. Starting from the availability of pukuk, distribution to digitalization. He said Pupuk Indonesia was coordinating this with the relevant ministries.
"Then there will also be expansion programs, we will also support them. We are ready in terms of production, the distribution side is ready, digitalization is ready. This is currently coordinating between many Ministries," he said.
In addition, Rahmad revealed, the production capacity of Pupuk Indonesia alone reaches 14 million tons per year. The details consist of urea and NPK fertilizer production.
"Whatever the government needs for food self-sufficiency, we are ready to support it," he said.
Previously, it was reported that Prabowo Subianto was officially inaugurated as President of the Republic of Indonesia with Gibran Rakabuming Raka as Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia.
In his speech after the inauguration, Prabowo announced that Indonesia was able to self-sufficiency in food.
In his next five years government, Prabowo targets Indonesia to be able to produce and meet the food needs of all people.

Prabowo assessed that in the future Indonesia should not always depend on imports of materials or food sources from abroad.
