The Shadow Strays Tops 85 Countries, Watched Up To 10.6 Million

JAKARTA - The latest Timo Tjahjanto film, The Shadow Strays received a lively welcome from viewers around the world. Netflix announced the film entered Netflix's Top 10 for the non-English film category just six days since its release on October 17.

The film also occupies the Top 10 in 85 countries including the United States, Canada, France, Britain, Germany, Spain, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Indonesia.

This film is Timo's latest achievement after previously attending with The Big 4 also received similar achievements. The Shadow Strays has been watched up to 10.6 million times during the release period in a week and will continue.

Timo, who acts as director and scriptwriter, said that The Shadow Strays talked about having feelings of affection and determination to state it.

The main character, 13, has dark trauma from his childhood that he pressed deeply. But at the same time he felt he had to love someone and as soon as he met Monji, he felt very concerned about this boy," said Timo Tjahjanto.

"Likewise the character of Umbra, namely mentor 13. He has such a big feeling to have someone he loves, and he puts it under pressure," he said.

I once said that the film doesn't matter if it wants 200 minutes. Indians watch movies for up to 3 hours still want to. We select viewers but with a lot of variations, maybe I want to tell you more than just the protagonist because I think the film world feels lived in all the characters are breathing but we can see Desire and the other side," he said in a press conference for this film last week.

The Shadow Strays tells the story of 13 (Aurora Ribero) members of the shadow killer assigned to kill without compromise. 13 were in a dilemma with his job betting on his conscience as a human. One day, he saw Monji (Ali Fikry) being taken by a group of thugs and 13 determined to find Monji.

The search led to various things linking 13 to the shadow killer organization where it grew.
