Today's Memory, October 21, 2013: Megawati Once EMPHASIZED That It Will Not Always Be A Bad Political Dynasty
JAKARTA Memories of today, 11 years ago, October 21, 2013, the former President of Indonesia, Megawati Soekarnoputri emphasized that she should not think too negatively about political dynasties. He considers political dynasties sometimes to bring goodness.
Megawati imitated the political dynasty of the Kennedy family. Previously, the pros and cons related to the political dynasty of the Governor of Banten, Ratu Atut Chosiyah spread. Banten is like controlled by their family. Their families 'Children and in-laws' are almost present in every political line in Banten.
The ruling family builds political dynasties in Indonesia not a few. The portrait is present almost throughout Indonesia. In-laws exchange positions, children become members of the legislature, or husband and wife take turns filling the position of regional leaders.
This condition often brings a lot of harm. Corruption is one of them. Indeed, legally a political dynasty is not a state practice that is prohibited. The state guarantees that all citizens can do politics.
The case is that not all political dynasties can produce goodness for the people who are led. The portrait was clearly shown by the political dynasty of Banten champions, Chasan Sochib. Chasan's existence made her son, Ratu Atut, governor of Banten.
This position made Queen Atut able to provide a large space for her family to her brother-in-law holding political positions. Problems arise. The Banten political dynasty does not guarantee that they are free from corruption cases.
Take for example when Atut's younger brother, Tubagus Chaeri Wardana bribed the chairman of the Constitutional Court Akil Mochtar in the context of a dispute over the Lebak Regent Election. The husband of politician Airin Rachmi Diany was then arrested by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
The man who is familiarly called Wawan made his brother, Ratu Atut dragged. Queen Atut has been banned from leaving the country. The corruption case involving Queen Atut was also investigated. The ulcer made all Indonesians think badly of the Banten political dynasty.
The massive corruption in Banten clearly originates from the practice of nepotism built by the Atut family. Since establishing a contractor company in 1976, which later became popular, Chasan has an influence down to a power center in West Java.
"In Banten, the formation and selection of community organization administrators was even said to have his permission. When Banten became a province in 2000, he also easily orbited his son, Atut, as deputy governor, and his fourth wife, Heryani, as Deputy Regent of Pandeglang," wrote a Tempo magazine report entitled Senjakala Dynasty Atut (2013).

The presence of corruption cases has made all Indonesian people look down on political dynasties. However, the former Vice President of Indonesia, Megawati Soekarnoputri, has a different view. Megawati, whose party, PDIP supports the power of Queen Atut in Banten, emphasized that political dynasties were not always bad on October 21, 2013.
Megawati imitated the role of the Kennedy family's political dynasty in the political map of the United States (US). She considers President Barack Obama, the first US President of blacks, would not have existed if the Kennedy family did not support the equal rights between black and white.
Megawati also advised the Indonesian people not to always think negatively about political dynasties. The political dynasty of Banten bolah has been dragged into corruption, but that does not mean that other political dynasties are like that.
"Try not to Keneddy, Obama will not become president, bet, can't be him. Finally, JF Kennedy was shot dead. In the past, the US could not accept racial differences.
"Finally, Kennedy succeeded (reduced racism). Joseph Patrick Kennedy (JF Kennedy's brother) should have been recruited as a US presidential candidate. But he joined the war and eventually died. So he was given to JF Kennedy," Megawati was quoted as saying on the detik.com page, October 21, 2013.
