Iran Holds A Number Of Diplomatic Meetings, Pushes Ceasefire In Lebanon

JAKARTA - Iran held a number of diplomatic meetings to encourage a ceasefire in Lebanon.

Quoting AFP, Monday, October 14, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is known to have met French President Emmanuel Macron yesterday.

Meanwhile, on the same day, Iran's Foreign Minister visited Iraq for a regional visit.

According to a statement on the Iranian presidential site, Pezeshkian and Macron discussed ways to secure a ceasefire between Hezbollah and Israel in Lebanon.

In front of Macron, Pezeshkian also condemned Israel's "crimes" in Gaza and Lebanon.

The French Presidential Office said Macron had asked Pezeshkian to support "general de-escalation and use its influence in this direction with destabilizing actors enjoying its support."

Iran is known to support Hamas over Israel's decades-long arbitrariness in Gaza. Another Israeli enemy, Hezbollah, supported by Iran, is fighting Israel in Lebanon.
