Yusril Is Ready To Carry Out His Duties If Chosen As Minister Of Prabowo-Gibran
JAKARTA - Constitutional law expert Yusril Ihza Mahendra said he was ready to carry out his duties if he was elected as a minister in the presidential and vice presidential government cabinet elected Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
"If you ask me whether I am ready to carry out the tasks that may be submitted, namely dealing with legal issues, legal development, law enforcement, actually God willing, I will carry out these tasks if given the mandate," said Yusril as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, October 11.
Yusril's name is said to be the Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law and Human Rights (Menko Polhukam) in the Prabowo-Gibran government cabinet. Regarding the news, he said it was just speculation.
"Instead of speculating, it's better if we wait after the president is officially inaugurated," he said.
He believes that the elected president Prabowo Subianto will choose a competent person in his government cabinet.
"I believe and believe that he will definitely choose the first cabinet candidates, have competence and ability to carry out his duties. Second, he also has high loyalty to him and has a high spirit of service to the nation and state," he said.
Yusril also responded to an issue that stated that the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs would be divided into two, namely the Coordinating Minister for Politics and Defense and the Coordinating Minister for Law and Human Rights.
According to him, the distribution was entirely Prabowo's decision as the elected president.

However, he appreciated if the minister's focus was divided into two. He assessed that the smaller coordination spectrum would focus more on the tasks carried out.
"As long as it's in line with the laws of state interest, it doesn't matter. Because the laws of state interest say that the president can form a coordinating ministry to field or coordinate certain areas," he said.
