Asked About The Plan To Sell Beer Shares, Anies Baswedan: Not Now

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan is still reluctant to comment on the efforts of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to release ownership of PT. Delta Djakarta beer shares.

"Later," said Anies when asked about the plan to sell beer shares on Sunday, April 4.

Anies was again asked for comments regarding the wishes of a number of party factions from Jakarta's Regional House of Representative to exercise discretion or unilateral authority to sell shares of the Anker to San Miguel beer.

"I won't comment first," Anies continued, leaving the interview location.

Previously, Jakarta's Regional House of Representative from PKS Faction Chairman Arifin asked Governor Anies Baswedan to use discretion or a government official's decision to resolve the polemic of releasing beer shares.

"If the DPRD does not approve at least, the governor can exercise discretion to immediately carry out the release," said Arifin, some time ago.

To date, there are six-party factions that have encouraged the sale of beer stocks, namely PAN, PKS, Golkar, Gerindra, PKB-PPP, and Democrats.

Unfortunately, the chairman of Jakarta's Regional House of Representative, Prasetyo Edi Marsudi, does not want to be involved in the plan to release the shares of the liquor that produces beer from Anker to San Miguel brands. This is because Prasetyo sees Anies as having no rational reasons for the sale of beer shares.

Therefore, he invited the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan to sell shares of beer owned by PT. Delta Djakarta, Tbk. Prasetyo emphasized that Anies has the authority.

"Sir, go ahead and sell it sir. I'm not participating. Go ahead if the governor wants to sell. I'm not in the way. It's just that the rules and mechanisms have to be passed," said Prasetyo.

According to Prasetyo, there is a potential state loss from the planned share sale of 26.26 percent. During the four submissions for the release of beer shares, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has not had a sound study.

He continued, there will be no impact of financial loss if the Jakarta Provincial Government owns shares in PT. Delta. In fact, DKI has received income from the share ownership profits it received since the days of Governor Ali Sadikin.

"The report I received from PT. Delta has contributed dividends to the Regional Wealth Management component which is separated in the 2019 Regional Budget for DKI Jakarta amounting to Rp. 100.4 billion. This position is the second largest contributor to dividends to DKI Jakarta after PT. Bank DKI amounting to Rp. 240 billion," said Prasetyo.
