Update On COVID-19 As Of April 4: 6.731 New Cases, Death Cases Increasing To 427

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 36.490 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 6.731 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 1.534.255 people and active cases have dropped to 116.709 cases", quoted from data of the Ministry of Health, Sunday, April 4.

Today's cases increased by 9.663 so that a total of 1.375.877 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 427 people and a total of 41.669 people.

The province with the newest cases was in Banten with 3.501 cases and a total of 43.925 cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta which has 736 new cases with a total of 386.466 cases. West Java has 338 new cases and a total of 252.545 cases. Then, South Kalimantan has 290 new cases and a total of 28.871 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today is owned by Banten with an increase of 6.279 recovered cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with an increase of 1.024 recovered cases, South Kalimantan with an increase of 342 recovered cases, and West Java with an increase of 294 recovered cases.

There are three provinces that reported no new cases today. Provinces that reported zero new cases are Maluku, North Maluku, and North Sulawesi.

In addition, the number of specimens that had been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigen have reached 12.913.152.

"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 17.83 percent", he wrote.

For the number of people suspected of having contracted with COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 62.290 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.

Furthermore, there are currently 8.629.182 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 4.014.401 vaccinated against the second dose. Meanwhile, the total target of vaccination stages 1 and 2 reached 40.349.051 people.
