Samsung Delays Android Launch 15 Until 2025

JAKARTA Samsung is one of the companies that launch Android updates quickly on its devices. This always happens every year, but Android 15 will break the habit.

At the 2024 Samsung Developer Conference (SDC) event which was held on October 3, the company revealed that Android 15 will not be released in the near future. The plan, the update for the Operation System (OS) will be released next year.

Samsung did not specify when this OS would be available, but they confirmed that the Android 15 update will not be released until the next Galaxy launch. This means that this latest version of Android will be visible on Samsung's latest device.

If you look at the Samsung launch timeline every year, the next device expected to be released is the Galaxy S25 Series. This device with the Galaxy AI may launch in January next year.

In other words, the Galaxy S25 Series will be the first Samsung device to get Android 15. This is an unusual decision because Samsung always releases Android updates separately from its Galaxy devices.

Like Android 14, for example, the company released its October update last year and launched the Galaxy S24 Series a few months later. However, this action makes quite sense because Android 15 was also released with a strange cycle.

For the first time, reported by 9to5google, Google launched its newest phone without including its newest Androd system. After the Pixel 9 was released, the company only released Android 15 for AOSP and for Pixel last August.
